Body Poem
He said I caught his eye
And so I wonder why?
Could it be the paint on my toes?
Or the way they slant down like stairs
Possibly it is the skin tone on my legs?
Or the stride of my step
Can it have been my butt?
Or they way my jeans hug my body
Maybe he fell in love with my breast
Or the way they peek out of the collar of my shirt.
Maybe it was my arms that got him wondering
Why is there a scar so big on her wrist
Or a burn in a perfect circle on her hand
Could it have be the curl of my lip?
Or was it the lip ring that fits perfectly on it
Was it the fire in my eyes?
Or the way they cover the pain
And allow him to trust them
But then again I could have been the bin of my hair
Or they way it falls on my shoulders.
But it might have been deeper than skin
Definitely it was my soft voice
The need of my care
The beat of my heart
The pureness of my soul
The tender of my touch
It was the way I forgive
The grip of my hold
To the love he gave me
Or the little attitude I get.
Possibly it was the fact there is so much darkness in the world
He seen beauty left in me
What ever it could have been
He found what I failed to see
