Through the Fog
Her life is filled
But she sees none
She numbs herself
Stabs out her eyes
Drowns out her ears
To avoid it all
Alcohol, pills, needles
Anything she can get ahold of
To rid her mind of her life
She doesn't want to hear she's wrong
She doesn't want to see the stares
So she makes herself invisible
Deaf and blind to all
She has nowhere to call home
Hers is broken
Raised herself
She sleeps where she falls
Parties
Relatives
Friends
She's a wanderer
A loner
Her friends watch
Offering what they have
Trying to get her to talk
To get it off her chest
But she refuses
They thank God everyday
When they see her
Because it means shes still alive
For a little while longer
Each injection
Each drink
Each pill
Brings her closer to death
But she cant see that
She doesn't hear deaths footsteps as they get closer
Waiting to catch her
When an overdose to strong
When a drink to strong
When a needle to dirty
She'll never know
Never see the people who do love her
Who want her there
Who will give their life to save hers
Through the fog
