it's a weird world after all
i left the concert early without telling you,
and if you'd noticed i would've texted you saying my phone was broken so i couldn't call;
sometimes when you were wasted you were that stupid, and sometimes you were so cunning it was almost as if you'd went to college;
weird, as i said.
anyways, sorry i left; i know how much you spent on the tickets, but john mayer isn't really my thing.
what did i do? well i walked on the sidewalk, stomped on the slush; chased my own shadow like a dog chasing its own tail, except a dog can sometimes catch it's own tail and a shadow will
always
run
faster.
then i sat in the middle of the crosswalk, counting the seconds between the red and green lights, thinking of you and hoping you didn't remember me in your wasted state,
but kind of hoping you were.
