Promises
That you’ll never keep
Words
That you’ll never mean
Just three that broke
My fragile heart
That I mistakenly trusted with you
“I love you” I never believed
Whether or not you did
It was a knife in my heart
But one that brought pleasure
My days revolved around
Seeing you, being near you
I thought it was right
But something was missing
Maybe your heart, as
You promised you would never hurt me
Maybe it was me, blindly
Blindly falling for you
Ignoring everything that people said
But it was too good to be true
Lies, hidden things
Ripping me apart
Why couldn’t you have left me alone?
I was content with being alone and depressed
With you, I learned to be happy
Everything I ever wanted
Seemingly perfect, but soon
Charm wore away, and revealed the ugly truth
Behind this sweet façade
Heart broken in two
Wait, I never gave you my heart
To think what you might have done
Just maybe, you might have broken your promises
Promises to me
