Too Far Down
Feels like I'm drowning.
Being pushed under water,
struggling to breathe.
I am afraid.
Afraid of failing.
Afraid of disappointing.
Disappointing you.
When my face reaches
the surface of the water.
I gasp for air.
Only to find myself
being pushed back down.
I try to fnd my way
back to the surface.
Back where I can
breathe.
But I have been
pushed down too far.
My clothing is caught on
a piece of coral.
I can not find my way
back to th surface.
I guess under water
is where society
wants me to stay.
