Little kids on the swings,
legs pumping,
forward, back, forward, back
to see how high you can get
waiting for the perfect moment
to leap
higher, higher, higher
you feel like you can touch the sky
when you release the chains
you soar
weightless in the air
for what seems like forever
and then you land
sliding into the sand
to a gentle stop
