The Aftermath of Love
A girl who trusts, her heart like butter
When love is shown, she craves the flutter.
But comes a time, when those she trusts
Like metal, the corode and rust.
And time goes by, but doesn't heal
She watches as her layers peel.
He goes on playing, lifes a game
To those who laugh, and don't feel pain.
So- she learns that loves a curse
A packed explosion, ready to burst.
And when it does, it only hurts
Those around it that feel it first.
And though it may not be others at fault
She hides away deep in a vault.
Of self disgust and love and pain
And all that she had lived in vain.
And with her all that she has left,
Is a damaged heart that is bereft.
For though to others, her love is persistent
To herself it's nonexistent.
But no one enjoys the company of those
Who mourn themselves and self-disclose.
So dormant inside her twisted soul
Are these emotions, real and whole.
And so life continues with many high hopes
Despite all odds, we manage to cope.
And tears remain strengths best friend
And a true person never pretends.
So when life comes crashing, or ends don't tie
Remember, it's okay to cry.
And when others don't fulfill their part
Be strong and just don't fall apart.
Trust is heavier than a bag of bricks
And mistakes of others, we cannot fix.
When things go wrong, the worlds a mess
Just be honest and wait for the rest.
