Speak
I listen as she speaks
And cling to every word
When her voice decides to sleep
I ponder what I've heard
I undress everything she has said
Until it is naked
Like a newborn child
She hands to me
And my heart begins to weep
As her words begin to cry
The meaning
That first crawls
And then walks
And then talks
And when her voice awakens
It begins to sing
the melody
telling of how lonely it felt
In the womb
