Breaking
You look at me and see I look okay,
but there is so much more then meets the eye.
Inside I hold what no one can see,
like a broken heart that beats so sweet,
a soul that burns black and
secrets I can't bear to tell.
Inside I am breaking and
all you can see is that
I pretend to be okay while
inside is another story to tell.
Broken pieces of my heart lay still,
waiting for the day it becomes whole.
So I put on my mask and
pretend I’m all right,
hoping no one can see
the lies.
