Where I'm From

I am from a place,
A faraway land to some people,
but not that far from here,
from that place I remember the windy city,
the frigid, snowy winters,
and the big city.
I come from a Filipino heritage,
From hearing a foreign language,
From visits back to the homeland,
From food and cultures,
That is where I am from too.
I am From Catholic School to NA,
From Chesapeake to VA beach,
From having crazy dogs who run around in the house,
That is where I am from.
