Favorite Quote:
photograpy is about stopping the world in its tracks, but poetry is about capturing the world in motion.

Don't try to silence me, world-
I've got too much to say.
You try to strike me with your unjust fist
and bring me to the ground,
but I've learned how to fight.
I learned how to come out a success
despite the odds, and how to be
a victor amongst a crowed of the defeated;
I've cheated the system.

You said I couldn't be a winner;
you gave me nothing to build on-
I started my life from scratch.
I've become an outlaw in your pretty, picture-perfect image,
I just simply don't belong in this world;
a world where restraints are made of
brackets of steel, and every single person's mouth
is taped shut, fating them to silence.
A world where you wear your sins on your sleeve,
and everybody judges you at first glance.
I chose to be an outlaw, because I refuse to
accept that this is how life is supposed to be.

Don't try to silence me, world-
one day, I won't be here to speak.
I've got too much to say and not enough time,
and I need to be heard.
I know I'm not alone in my valiant endeavors-
I ask you to show your face and stand alongside me.
Solidarity is the candlelight in the darkness that will
burn away the arrogant and the inept who
believe the path to totality means those
who disagree are simply invalid.
But, most often, it is those who rebel
that are the most level-headed and insightful-
so let us speak, and give us opportunity
where it is surely overdue.

You will never silence me, world-
I am too strong for you.
