The Earth Cries out

As you sit in your
organic-fibered
eco-friendly sofas
Sipping your
all-natural
medicinal herb teas
A home filled with
energy-saving
water-saving
earth-saving
"green" additions
An electric-powered
pollution reducing
alternative fuel
powered vehicle
in your driveway
Nothing is too expensive
when it comes to saving
the earth's natural resources.
While a child cries out
in hunger
And a mother cries out
knowing there is nothing
You save the earth
One fluorescent lightbulb
at a time.

I've been meaning to reply... but I have not been able to find the words. Thank you so much for your wonderful encouragement. It means so so much to me. Thank you.

Wow...  I'm speechless...  And I'm also very saddened that I am the first to comment on this piece.  This is powerful, and veru simply spoken.  This a true reality that breaks my heart, and it is something that young people should be confronted with.  Well done.
