Heavy Wishes
I fly,
dashing
through the sky,
to leave behind my home,
rocks and ice and nothing,
for new, warm, green Earth.
My white skirt
trails behind me.
People point up
to announce my arrival,
"How pretty is that?"
They hope I will grant
their every wish.
But this is silly.
I am only a chunk of space rock
falling
through the sky,
Your prayers weigh me down
and I land with a loud thump.
