Lost Innocence
When I was a child
I didn’t have morals
I didn’t need them
What felt good was always right
What felt bad had to stop
Or else I’d cry
Now I’m an adult
And I realize that bad things
Will happen anyhow.
So I don’t cry
and what feels good many times
is not.
And bad things are starting to make sense to me now
