The Ant
This ant, she sees so much, so little,
And tinier is she.
This ant, she walks by dirt, by pebbles,
And climbs up the grass trees.
She journeys nearby other bugs,
Some friends, and some who’re not.
She settles in the sun, the shade,
And places where it’s hot.
This ant, she works so hard, so long,
She’s strong for her small size.
This ant, she wants to see, to hear,
She’s somewhere recognized.
She blends, she seems the same, no diff’rent,
Than any other being.
She hopes someday, somehow, somewhere,
She’ll be an ant worth seeing.
This ant, she sees so much, so little,
And tinier is she.
And maybe you have realized
That tiny ant is me.
