One Way Street

No matter where I’m headed
There is no turning back
There are no signs of stopping
No yielding and no slack
I cannot fall asleep
Because there is no stopping now
Full speed ahead it says
I wonder why and how
I’m on this one way street
The tears have scarred my face
There is no chance of taking it slow
Or prevailing at my own pace
I’m traveling on this highway
I’m the only one that’s here
And now I’ve finally realized
I’ve lost my power to steer.
