This city held my quivering bones still
untill i learned to grow arround them
i was built here,
beneath this citys smog of its own self
memories carved in the streets
from when i was once so strong
because of the things that i had held deep in my soul
but they have now left me
this winter, i felt its bite
the snow wore and tore my bones
it wispered and told me to run from this city,
the only home ive ever known
this city has consumed me.

The author's comments:
i wrote this when i was sitting on a street corner and it was almost to cold for me to move my hands. I wanted out, but there was no exit sign.
