Salt Water Air
I wish I could be standing at the edge of the sea-
I wish I could be standing there, breathing that salt water air.
I wish I could let it go.
Stand there against the ocean and feel small.
I wish I could stand by the ocean and let my fears go.
I wish I could stand there and no longer feel any woes.
I wish I could let it go.
But I don’t know why I hold it in.
I don’t know why, but it’s becoming a sin.
I want to feel small.
I want to get lost.
I want to be washed clean.
I want to stand by the sea, breathing in that salt water air.
I want to squeeze the sand between my toes, and watch the little hermit crabs scurry along the sand.
I want to watch the waves crash against the rocks and break into small –
Beads of water, salty and cold.
I want to stand by the sea, breathing in that salt water air…
I want to feel small
I want to feel insignificant.
I want to breath that air, that clings deep in my lungs.
I want to watch the waves crash and break.
I want to stand by the sea, breathing in that salt water air…
