Crush Me No More
I want to cry over what you did to me
but I’ve cried over you so much
that I know it’s pointless to cry
like it’s pointless to love you
--it’s pointless to sit and do nothing over something I can’t change.
But there’s still part of me
that wants to love you
like I once did or thought I did.
That’s what keeps me going:
me clinging;
to the wish or day
I could say I love you
like I actually wasn’t afraid
to actually like you for who you are today;
a person different from who you were.
