The Truth
A war against my faith,
a bullet through a flock of doves,
my prayers unheard,
I couldn't give another care,
For how my life came to be,
how the tree became the tree,
how my blood runs cold,
every time I hear your voice,
Its steely grasp,
Its tight refrain,
how long I remember,
that night in the hotel,
my faith but a dream,
your voice but a sound,
my heart just a beat,
no longer do I care,
How everything came to be,
see,
we kill, we ruin,
human life as we know ends,
So many questions of faith and belief,
but who to ask?
The teacher behind the desk?
The man behind the counter in a restaurant?
Problem after problem,
but who really knows,
how belief came to be
that human life was good,
We hurt it, we destroy it,
We breed them, We heal them,
but who really knows?
How we came to be,to do what we do,
How you took my hand,
and pressed me down,
your voice to tight to breath,
your touch so cold on my flesh.
Belief no lie,
only fable and story,
Fact the truth,
evidence and word,
So this is how came to be,
how you did what you did,
Through belief and fact,
There is no evidence only human word.
