Going Nowhere- Fast

Feet thrusting into
cold pavement,
heart pumping,
pounding
like a drum.
Arms swinging
back and forth,
one constant motion.
Hurrying
towards no particular
place, but I
can’t stop.
So much adrenaline,
almost too much.
Going nowhere, fast.
My body feels
terrible, but I don’t
want to stop.
Without a care
in the world,
my mind is let
out of its cage,
set free.
Concentrating on
everything, and
nothing.
Simply, running.
