Staring into her fears
Staring in the mirror, pain parallels
She scrutinizes every flaw silently
Can’t hide the way she feels
Years of low self worth have proved costly
She walks head down in the halls
She’s mastered her invisible mask
Stuck in these painful walls
To be loved is all she need ask
Laughter and jokes ring in her ears
Pain comes alive, hidden in her fears
Fear has had her crippled for so long
She’s felt weak, when she needed to be strong
Tears fill her eyes she shakes them off
Hiding the pain from those around
Refuses to let others see what’s hidden within
Deadly waters rise, she’s starting to drown
