Broken Forever
The x-ray comes through,
Instead of bone it is organs,
Instead of black and white it is colored,
Lots of red,
Except one thing,
My heart is black,
My heart is black.
Black and broken,
They say that that is what is wrong,
Broken three times,
I want to sew it back together,
Sew it back together.
The doctor says I cannot,
That it would just get worse,
Which seems impossible to me,
But as I sit there,
I feel it break more.
I cannot stand to sit around anymore,
Doing nothing,
It just hurts more,
I have got to get out,
Of the house at least.
I finally leave and meet up with some friends,
There I meet him,
There I meet him,
He is great,
Cute, funny, considerate, and sensible.
As we talk I begin to feel better,
We start dating,
And I tell him what was wrong.
And I tell him what was wrong,
About my broken heart,
And what the doctor said,
Also that talking to him makes it feel better.
We go back to the doctor,
Every month,
It gets better,
But not much,
It still hurts,
It still hurts,
But it’s getting better.
Years pass,
I feel better and better,
He proposes,
I say yes.
We get married,
And decide to go back to the doctor,
The x-rays still show scars,
But it is red and beating,
It is red and beating.
I will be okay,
He knows it,
I know it,
And so does the doctor,
I will be okay,
I will be okay.
