Bright red

Bright red

The flames encircle me

The exasperated energy that I engraved

Karma has bestowed, depths divulged

A bright red devil utters my name

Crimson red, screams are my symphony

My scars are now their cuts

It devastated my dignity,

How I can become my biggest fear

Now I’m the one

Castigation in my own crevasse

Scattered Oxygen, left hopelessly

Fractured and fragmented

The devil comes for me

Demented, been exposed to a new existence

I need a shield, a weapon to wield

I’m a fish in fire

The author's comments:

This piece is about the everlasting guilt that consumes us, most of which was in the past but it still seems to hold us back. The main narrative is about how I feel like I have tainted morality because of my decisions in the past and feel as if my newfound anxiety works alongside my guilty conscience to consume me.
