Aquarium MAG
A sea star with a lost arm
peels off the algaed glass
and drifts through the salt water
before dropping on the neon rocks
Mommy is it dead?
This is not a tropical paradise
seen in brochures--
shadows above the water
dump buckets of chopped mackerel
fish tear flesh of other fish
Will they eat each other?
The schools of silver fish bend
light while swimming in circles
towards an unreachable destination
Do they ever get lost?
Tentacles like strings of silk
float in the water
untouched by gravity
If I drown, I want to be as weightless.
