The oak tree started his day
with the sun rising
in the blue sky.

The brown oak tree,
who stood towering and proud,
had sadness rooted inside.

He wanted to travel the world.

He did not want to be an oak tree
who rises over mankind
with the competency of all thee.

The oak tree loved everyone
except for one sad soul,
which was his own.

His roots were deep in the ground
which prevented him
from traveling around.

He hated himself for staying at home,
being trapped,
unable to roam.

He scowled as the squirrels and birds
traveled where they pleased,
and he could only sit there,
wind blowing through his leaves.

He could never travel the world.

Until one day,
when the lime green acorn
grew to be brown on one of his
various brown branches.

He watched as it fell to the grass
slowly past his trunk,
crashing with a silent thump.

Then an idea hit his wood—
how he couldn’t leave—
but his acorn could.

His acorn,
small and mighty,
was a ginormous part
of the oak tree’s heart.

The bird who camped in a nest
on the top brown branch
swooped down the tree
and grabbed the acorn,
to achieve the tree’s quest.

The bird flew high into the sky,
and traveled with the acorn,
making the oak tree cry
lines of sap.

The oak tree traveled,
floating in the cloud,
still towering proud.

He finally felt the sunbeam
as he traveled
and reached his dream.
