The moon, stars, and sun
One was the moon
She saw the world around her
In only shades of black.
She tried her very hardest
To light up the world
In her own unique beauty.
Trying to give the world
Laughter,
Hope,
Joy,
All in the endless void of night.
Her goal was to make people smile
And she did
Yet she was lonely and kept a brave face
We all watched her fade in and out
Without a care
One was the stars
She traveled the world
She saw the sights
She lit up the night sky
Wherever the moon could not reach.
And when all were asleep
She comforted the moon
And beckoned the sun.
She shined in many ways
Her intellect and creativity
She shimmered with wisdom
And saved us from dark
The way she could reach everyone around her
The way she isn’t always there
One was the sun
She was able to bring light all day
All alone she managed
To provide warmth for all around her
Often taken for granted, she did the kind thing
Giving love to those who didn’t deserve it
Working day after day
To make people understand
That there
Is
Light.
To give more than to receive
To wish for a break from the struggle
Of loving all.
Joy
Intellect
Kindness
Moon
Stars
Sun
The moon was alone.
The stars gave her hope
The stars were away
The sun gave her light
The sun was exhausted
The moon gave her rest
For they each light up the world
With each other.
