My Best Friend
My best friend is a girl who’s my sunflower,
She’s my other half, the one who I can talk to for so many hours.
I’m her bumble bee,
And when we’re together, we’re both carefree.
I first met her at camp last summer,
When she walked into Cabin six as a newcomer.
I was sitting on my bunk bed, when we both heard a girl cry;
“TECHNOBLADE NEVER DIES!!”
We both screamed happily, knowing someone else knew about our favorite show,
Then we turned and looked at each other, and from then, our friendship started to grow.
That day, we talked and had so much fun,
And at night, we laughed and sung.
I remember that I helped her across the bridge,
And that I helped re-wrap her arm with a new bandage.
I remember carrying a heavy tote with her in the rain,
Singing “Turn Back Time” to the point where we ignored our pain.
We, the two “mothers” at camp survived, putting everybody but ourselves first,
The goodbyes stung; by far being the worst.
But, even after that, we kept up with each other,
making plans to write and keep in touch with each other all this summer
I always love hanging out with her, from MCC parties to seeing Hamilton to just talking,
no matter what we do, I love it, from singing to walking!
she’s truly my best friend; the Sunflower to my bumble bee,
and I love her so much, and I hope that’s clear to see
🐝🌻
This one goes out to Sunflower
Thank you for always being there for me and being the best friend I could ever wish for.
Love,
Bumble Bee
