Story of My Life
I long to go back
to before I grew up
And realized life isn’t a fairy tale
It’s an open book
Crinkled by the edges
And up to me to write
But it’s ripped and damaged
With a feeble binding
And writing my story is a troublesome task
And I’m almost never satisfied
With the way, my words go forward
But this is
The actuality of life
Because I’m no princess in a tower
I’m an anxious mess
Sitting with a pen in hand
Ignoring reality and overthinking everything
Waiting for my book to write itself
