Skin
Soft and beautiful brown
My skin reaps the legacy of my family
Working hard with no pay
All because of my beautiful brown skin
Everyone seeks a rich tan color
But I am to dark for them
For the sun kissed me a little too long
So I am ignored and set aside
All because of my beautiful brown skin
The police will pull me over
Beat me senseless
Shoot people like me
All because of our beautiful brown skin
The cocoa butter
Smooth and cold
Leaves my skin perfect
Yet im not perfect enough to others
All because of my beautiful brown skin
