A Lonely Girls' Guide to Knowing if Friends Are True
How do you know if the friends you have a true?
How do you know that they won’t make you blue?
Truth is, I don’t even know,
I mean, how do you know if you’re just something they outgrow?
There are red flags to look out for, but what if you can’t see red?
What happens if the red someone else sees is green to you- does this mean you’ve been misled?
People walk in and out of your life every day,
You may have your friend Friday, but not again Monday.
Why does it work like this?
Why can’t we be kids again with our innocent bliss?
Friendships felt like they would never end back then,
Can we go back to that again?
So, how do you know if someone is true?
You just take your best guess, and if you’re lucky, you’ll have a clue.
I hope you find friends who are real and stay with you,
And I hope you can see red flags and green ones too; don’t be like me and only see blue.
While blue is a nice color, it isn’t good for flags,
It’s the color of sadness, the color that should be for rags.
Pretty colors may tend to mislead you,
So go find as much green as you can, but don’t touch anything that’s sky-blue.
Good luck, my friend,
Don’t be like this lonely girl, who accidentally tends to overextend.
Go now and try to be somebody’s green,
Whether in person or through a screen.
