IV Fluid
Cold liquid drips
Into my skin and rips
Through a cylindrical tube
My eyes stare frightenedly
At this sight; which occurs annually
Pale green veins sting
From the liquid’s wring
Over my arm; fingers clasped
Icy frost relapsed
My bones; whitened
The cold heightened
Numbness vibrates
My arm; whistling
Like a snake’s hissing
A strong, chemical smell
Vaporizes through my nose; as though I fell
Through a trance of chemicals
Grayed wisps counted by decimals
Decimals; scrawling the amount of fluid left
My arm thaws; free from the chemical’s theft
