BaseBall Star
BaseBall star
Strike three you're out! I hear the umpire yell
I grab my bat and jog to the plate rushing to put my helmet on.
Rocks and sand pile under my cleats. I step up to the plate
adrenaline shooting down my spine.
I look at the score with two outs.
I didn't want to be the last out. I got this
Just keep my eye on the ball. I tell myself
Measuring off with my bat getting adjusted,
I was ready. Full of hype.
The way I feel everytime I get up to the base
Positioning myself rocking back and forth.
suddenly the pitcher pitches the ball perfectly,
straight down the middle. Time slowed down.
The ball was aligned with my bat. It was perfect, With a big and sudden breath
I take the hit swinging my bat aiming for the middle of the ball with a loud
WHAM the ball shoots up into the sky flying high.
I start to sprint as the crowd roars with excitement watching the ball
shoot over the fence and across the street I cheer with them.
My first home run.
