In the Course of a Day
Flowers, bright as a thousand suns
Surround the clear water as it runs.
Through the woods and down the hill
The gleaming lake, it does fill.
In the reflection on the water you can see
A monstrous mountain as high as can be
If at the top of the mountain
I were to stand,
The clouds I could touch
With my very own hand.
Feel as they slowly drift by
And watch as the sun sets in the sky.
The shining day turns into a dark night
But the moon and the stars
Still shed some light
As the stars glimmer millions of miles away
I get to sit and watch as the night
Once again turns to day

I have always loved the outdoors. Being up in the mountains is my favorite and that is kind of where my inspiration for this poem came from. The peace and beauty of it all is what I am trying to get across by writing this.
