Awakening
Tearing through treetops,
Racing through rows
of tangled foliage.
Ripping off branches,
leaves left for stems.
No one has felt it yet -
The ripple of the roar
swallowing up the ground:
on its way to destruction.
The first obstacle crumbles
with no resistance, sending
ancient monuments crashing
to the ground.
Still the wave grows stronger,
Echoing through every cave
until the rock begins to crack:
They still haven’t felt it.
But one day it will hit -
This enormous power they created,
By the tangling of unspoken words
mixed with outright disappointments.
I have found my voice.
