Drowning

Something’s pulling me down.
I struggle.
I don’t have a reason. I simply cough and squirm.
No matter how much I lash around, I continue to fall deeper.
I don’t understand.
The water swallows me, becoming heavier.
My lungs are about to collapse.
Eventually, I can’t feel anything.
I’ve become one with this ocean.
I simply drift downwards without resistance.
The world no longer exists.
