Letting Go
You look me in the eyes
And you ask me to let you go.
To not make you try any longer.
But I can't.
Because I don't know how to live without you.
You were my best friend, always there.
When I was screaming or crying you let me fall in your arms.]
Who will I lay with when I can't speak?
Who else can I sit in perfectly loud silence with?
I can't live without you
But I know you cant live.
So I let you go, before it was too late.
Before you were gone without hearing those words.
"It's okay. I love you."
Said in a wrongful setting,
In the back of this alley
Whilst you grew cold.
"I'm sorry."
And then, that perfectly loud silence.
That sad last beat of the flower in your chest.
