it was the end of the world
[we were sitting on a couch
shadows and light making a melody on the wall
i remember how warm you were
i remember the girl that told everyone she thought the world would end today
i remember what i said
"July 25th. They told us the world would end. Maybe it did. But I think a new one is starting."
your sigh was soft and your voice was weary when you replied
"I think both of us could use a new world."
in my memory, that moment didn't end
we never left that room and i never lost you
the new world never burned
