Those Simpler Times
Let me remember the water splashing on my face as I went down the slide.
The giant corndogs that tasted oh so good.
The sand in between my feet’s fingers,
The bright sun on my small face.
Then take me back to the garage
Where I waited for my sister
I was there hours, only 3 years old.
Eagerly waiting to carry the newborn family member.
Much simpler times
Eating those tacos de frijol in the family table
Everyone together, every sunday morning.
Playing Mario Kart and watching Spongebob with my brother.
The days when we only had one dog, the best dog.
Let me go back just for a second
To my old school
That rich jungle-like campus
With trees and leaves, it almost felt made up
The old desks,
The good food
Those lime popsicles and tasty barbacoa.
Ahhh, it seems so perfect.
Back to the days of Sunny D juice
And good old cartoons.
Those LEGO filled christmases
Everything
Just smiles.
All smiles.
All and all, much simpler times.
