Space Exploration

As the moon came closer into view, the three men knew what they had accomplished. Apollo 11, the space shuttle that held Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. All three men landed safely on the moon, but it was one small step for man, one giant step for mankind. Space, a physical universe beyond the earth’s atmosphere, filled with many opportunities for mankind. But an obstacle that has been asked is, “Should more money be spent on space exploration?” There are many more areas to spend money, but why spend it on space? Well space is a very great thing to learn and study which is why, we should all explore space. The things we could learn would put us, years ahead of where we could predict to be. After all the knowledge we could learn, we could benefit from the wisdom and intelligence. Lastly, we could solve problems that stumped mankind for centuries. All of this future knowledge could be taken away, in just a blink of an eye. Just one mistake can bring the whole world down, the world should smarten up, if they know what’s good for them.

“To know what you know and what you do not know, that is true knowledge” -Confucius

‘Knowledge is one of the keys to life. Life is the key to knowledge.’ Well if we all continue to fund the space program we might learn some extraordinary things. One example might be new species, like new animals. Maybe just maybe, new species could exist out of this galaxy. Imagine a wild Wampa on a arctic planet, eating a frozen tauntaun; but, that is coming from a star wars fan. If new species are out of the picture now, we could focus on life that is closer. And what I mean by that is, extraterrestrials, or “aliens”. I believe that aliens are here around us, and we could always find that out without space. But space could be a way to learn more about aliens. Not the way that we all know now; but, space is a very amazing opportunity to learn about. Space programs like NASA, developed feats like entering earth’s orbit around 17,300 mph! How is this possible without burning/disintegrating everything inside? Well NASA created insulation, to protect the space shuttles re-entering earth’s atmosphere. NASA made many more inventions, but they also made more wisdom towards space. More specifically, NASA went into space a-lot of times, and they learned what was normal or abnormal about space. As NASA and more space programs go out into space, we all learn about the universe and its secrets.

Knowledge can be an important tool to acquire, and very beneficial if used properly. Without space programs, we wouldn't have important life saving technologies that we do now. One example is the M. R. I. scanners used by nurses, doctors, who save peoples’ lives everyday. Another example is artificial heart valves that help injured people who have bad hearts, but good souls. These are just some of the examples that more money should be put into space programs. But we haven’t learned just about medicinal profits from space, there is more to discover. We learned to make life easier for the average Joe, and that is to cook food quickly. Before the great advances in technology, humans had to cook their food over a fire. Now we can cook it in a microwave, and not get e-coil. Another feat that we've accomplished is water sterilizing filters. Ever wonder why water looked so clean and pathogen free after it was extracted from the faucet? Well NASA invented a water filter that picked up every dangerous pathogen. Water can be extracted from the ground, but how about oil from the sea? During the oil spill of 2010, creatures of the deep suffered greatly by the oil. But NASA developed a sphere that was made out of beeswax. It was called a beeswax ball, and it sucked up oil from the Gulf of Mexico, which saved many lives. Earth’s atmosphere is changing everyday, but it might be changing into a negative path for all people. NASA created a energy source called solar power, which takes the energy from the sun, and projects it towards people’s homes. NASA created these inventions and many more because they found the answers to life. But more questions will pop up, and we all need to find the answers.

Going back to the topic of aliens/extraterrestrials, space could be a outlet to figure out why aliens are here. If aliens wanted to destroy the earth, they could have done so a very long time ago. Long enough to go back to where Jesus Christ himself was born, and the ancient Egyptians. We could find the answers to solve problems that have confused us, for centuries. This is just part of the reason of why the world should consider space exploration. The world itself is in crisis mode right now. Millions of people, if not billions of people are concerned about the world today and its problems. One problem is global hunger, or how economies can’t support the population boom that is arising. Space exploration could find an answer for food that would grow instantly and be very nutritional to humans. Imagine the problems that could be solved for many people/animals. One other problem is global disease, or mankind will die of a disease that would be spread from person to person. Space exploration could find a way to solve these problems. They could give someone a pill, 10 mins later, they’re perfectly healed, and the possibilities are endless. But when the time comes to where we all need to make a decision, hopefully we have the solution.

From the three astronauts that landed on the moon’s surface on July 20, 1969 to the knowledge/benefits/ problems of the earth and its people, space might just be the solution that could save us. If space doesn't save us, I’m not sure what will. But before the big problems come forward, mankind will need to push into space, not into trouble. And if the world does advance into space, we could all have amazing technology that would put us ahead of where we would be. So the world should smarten up, but if it doesn't, we will all be doomed to the very end.
