Failure slipped off the tip of her tongue once again. It was hard to keep it in, tucked in deep past her gums. Every time she would walk into an office, she would open her mouth and failure would come slobbering out. She blamed it on the economy, when in actuality it was her illiteracy.

“How am i supposed to get a job if i can’t write right,” She asked a former colleague. It’s a hard world out there for the uneducated, not that we make it any easier.

“ i tried to write a resume but i can’t even write it. i cant write the first goddamn word. the first word they read’ll be the only word. i’m already rejected”

Failure resides in the ducts of each and every one of us. But we draw it out for these individuals, predicting their demise before they can learn to articulate for themselves.
