The wind was whistling and the trees were swaying. It was eerily quiet. Kelly began walking home from school. The school itself was eerie. Red- bricked with cracks all along the walls. Black window shutters creaking and swaying along with the trees. As the swaying of the window shutters and the trees quickened Kelly started running. She was a block away from the street she lived on when she heard something peculiar. The sound sounded like footsteps.  She quickened her pace. So did the faint footsteps. She had finally had enough. ‘’What do you want?’’ Kelly screeched. She whirled around, wondering about who this freak was. But there was nothing. All Kelly could see was the faint shape of the school surrounded by fog.
Wait, she thought. When I walked out of school there was no sign of fog. Kelly whipped around dashing towards the direction of her house. She was almost to her street when she heard the same peculiar sound that had frightened her earlier. The footsteps were louder this time. Much louder. They sounded as if they were just centimeters behind her own feet which were running as fast as they could carry her. She wanted to know who this creepy person was once and for all. She halted to a stop, whipped around, and saw what she feared the most. Kelly saw absolutely nothing.
Kelly started to cry. She felt so vulnerable right now. “What do you want?” Kelly shouted to the invisible freak. She wanted all of this to be over. So she ran. She ran the rest of the way to her house. Once she got home Kelly slammed the front door shut and locked it. Breathing Heavily, Kelly went into the kitchen, trying to find something to fill her empty stomach. The events that had just happened made her feel frightened and weak, but the sight of her mother’s kitchen had done it. She started sobbing. The memories of her mother had come back to her in boatloads. Like the time her mom had taught her how to make her homemade chili. The thought of her first time making chili with her mom had brought a grin to her face. Kelly had put too much brown sugar in (her mother’s secret ingredient) the chili. Her mother did a taste check of the chili, and when she tasted the not needed extra brown sugar her face was priceless. Now Kelly was laughing. And then she thought about those seven words that ruined her life. I’m sorry Kelly, Your mother has passed.
They diminished her happiness. Her mother is the only person in her life that had made her life worth living. Kelly decided not to think about that right now. Her mother would not be proud of her if she did not go on, but something pulled her from her thoughts. She heard something. Like a tap or something. She decided to just forget about it, but what made her pulse beat a little faster was what she saw.  She saw a figure. The figure was like a shadow. I wonder who that could be, she wondered. Kelly sauntered over to the front door. Just as she was about to unlock the front door something caught her eye. The lock on the door wasn’t locked like before. The sight made the blood in her veins run cold. Just as Kelly was going to call her friend to ask if she wanted to come over a bloody hand slapped itself onto the window of her front door. Kelly yelped. And then everything went black.
The room was spinning as Kelly opened her eyes. Her mind was like a vortex of confusion. Then she looked down at her shirt. There was a big spot of red on her shirt. Did I paint yesterday?  Kelly asked herself. I couldn’t have because I don’t have on my painting shirt. Kelly went back to her painting cabinet. She opened the door to check her supplies. Nothing was misplaced or messed with. What? Kelly wondered. Then the memories started flooding back to Kelly’s mind. Oh my gosh. This isn’t paint, its blood. Kelly went to her phone and dialed her best friend, Ally’s number. It started ringing. ‘’C’mon Ally pick up,’’ Kelly spoke to herself. The phone rang three more times before Ally’s voice spoke into the phone. “Hi Kelly!” Ally’s cheery voice spoke. “Hi Al, can you please come over here, I’m a little scared,” Kelly said honestly. “Of course,’’ Ally replied. “Why are you scared?” Ally asked. “I’m just a little on edge today,’’ Kelly said. “Alright,” Ally spoke. “I’m on my way,’’ Ally said. “Okay, thanks Ally,” Kelly said gratefully.
Ally ended the call. Kelly felt alone. She was getting hungry so she went to her kitchen to get some fruit. Then she remembered the stories that her mother used to tell her when she was alive. One was where an old woman lived here ages before Kelly and her parents moved into the house. The woman had been doing laundry and as she was walking down the stairs she slipped and fell. She passed almost instantly. Another was where a mother was cooking in the kitchen. She was going to get something out of the cabinet and when she opened the cabinet door a knife flew out and hit her right in the middle of her forehead. Her most favorite story though was the one where a girl about the same age as Kelly had been possessed by a demonic entity in the house. The girl had been with her friend when it happened.
The girl went to get something in the kitchen and when she did not come back her friend went to check on her. When her friend got to the kitchen she saw the girl eating raw meat on the floor. The girl’s friend screamed. She tried talking to the girl in a soothing voice. The girl snarled. The girl’s friend tried walking over to the girl. The girl ran on all fours around the counter. The girl’s friend chased the girl around the counter. The girl was gone.
The girl’s friend was scared. She saw the girl’s bedroom door shake. The friend went to the door. She turned the knob. She opened the door and what she saw was frightening. She saw nothing. She then heard a spine tingling snarl. She looked to where the snarl came from. Atop the girl’s dresser was the girl, blood dripping from her mouth. The friend tried to run away but the girl pounced on her. A neighbor that was worried from all of the noise came in to the house. She heard the noise coming from the bedroom. She went in. What she saw made her die of fright. The girl was eating her friend. The friend had her arms stretched out trying to open the door. Almost as if she was asking for help. That’s how Kelly’s house got its name, The Killer.
The story made Kelly shiver. She wondered when Ally would get here. Ally was walking out of her front door when something caught her eye. It looked like a person. She looked closer and screamed. The figure’s eyes were glowing red. Ally ran down the stairs of her deck, dashing to Kelly’s house. Ally pounded on Kelly’s front door. “Kelly, let me in please!” Ally pleaded. Kelly walked to the front door. “How do I know it’s you?” Kelly joked. “Kelly c’mon now please, it’s me!” Ally yelled. Ally looked back, seeing the figure walking over to Kelly’s house. She pounded herder on Kelly’s door. Kelly went to the door, opening it. She screamed, seeing the same dark figure she saw earlier standing directly behind Ally. She grabbed Ally and pulled her into her house.
Kelly slammed her door shut and locked it. Ally dashed to Kelly’s back door, slammed it shut, and locked it. “Kelly? What was that?” Ally questioned. “I don’t know that’s why I asked you to come over here. That’s what made me scared,” Kelly explained. Ally didn’t respond. “Ally? Ally?” Kelly called. Ally did nothing but point to the stairs of Kelly’s Basement. Kelly’s eyes followed and what she saw made her blood run cold. An old woman was walking down the stairs with a basket of clothes. The woman looked pale almost ghostly. “What are y-you doing in m-my house?” Kelly asked shakily. The woman turned her head around. She looked at Kelly with an evil grin. She turned her head back around and fell forward, screaming all the way, her body falling to the ground with a thud. Kelly and Ally dashed to the top of the stairs. The woman was gone. “Do you think we should go down and check for her?” Kelly asked. “Are you mad? No!” Ally yelled. Ally slammed the door shut and locked it. “The best thing we can do right now is call 911,” Ally said. “Okay let’s go call,” Kelly agreed.
As Kelly turned around to call 911, Ally screamed. Kelly instantly saw what Ally saw. On the other side of the kitchen, carved into the cabinet door were 4 horrifying words. You will not survive. “Oh my gosh,” Ally said. In an instant the knife that was used to carve the words flew forward in Kelly’s direction. Kelly was too scared to move. She waited for the knife to hit her but she didn’t feel anything. She opened her eyes and the knife was right in front of her face not moving. She looked around and Ally’s hand was on the handle of the knife. “T-thank you,” Kelly said. “Yeah,” Ally replied. Kelly ran over to the phone and dialed 911.
“Hello this is 911, how may we help you,” The voice said in a monotonous voice. “Hi, my name is Kelly Smith and my best friend and I are being harassed by some creep,” Kelly said in one breath. “I’m sorry we are busy at the moment but feel free to leave a message after the beep,” the voice said again. Beep. Kelly hung up. “Seriously?  911 has a voice messaging service?” Kelly said dumbfounded. Ally grabbed Kelly’s arm. “C’mon we have to go get help. Kelly started to feel funny. She didn’t feel like herself. And then all her thoughts went away and her mind went blank.
Ally rolled her eyes then went to the front door to look and see if the figure was still there. Ally turned back around to be greeted with the most awful sound she had ever heard. Lip smacking. Ally didn’t think it could be Kelly because her parents had taught her to chew with her mouth closed. Ally went into the kitchen and saw Kelly. She was eating steak off the floor with the blood still on it. “Kelly?” Ally asked Kelly whipped her head back and screamed a blood curtailing scream. She ran around the counter on all fours. ‘Kelly, stop it, you’re scaring me,” Ally said in a firm voice. Kelly screamed again. Ally walked around the counter, searching for Kelly. She turned around and saw Kelly on the floor. Kelly jumped up and fell into Ally’s arms. “Ally what am I?” Kelly asked shakily. “Kelly, you’re possessed,” Ally answered. Ally carried Kelly into her room and set her down on her bed. Kelly fell asleep instantly. Ally tiptoed out of her room and shut the door. Then Ally called a priest. “Hello, this is Father David. How may I help you?” the priest asked. “Hi, my name is Ally Woodsmen and I think my best friend may be possessed,” Ally answered. “Alight, I’ll be over there as soon as I can,” the priest said. “Can you give me your address?” the priest asked. “Yes, Ally answered. Ally gave him Kelly’s address and went to sit on the couch.
She woke up a few hours later to the sound of banging on a door. She got up and followed the noise. She followed it until she was at Kelly’s bedroom door. It was shaking uncontrollably. Ally went to open the door when the shaking stopped instantly. Ally opened the door and saw nothing. She looked around the whole room, searching for Kelly. She looked on top of Kelly’s dresser and saw Kelly, blood trickling down her chin. Ally tried to run away but Kelly pounced on her biting into her shoulder. Ally screamed then passed of fear.
The priest walked up to the front door, ringing the doorbell. No answer. He walked in hearing growling. He walked to the door opening it. What he saw made him die of fear. Kelly was eating Ally’s shoulder. Ally had her arms outstretched as if she’s trying to ask for help. And that’s how Kelly Smith’s house got its name, The Killer.
