Ever want to play a game where there's a huge open world where people can explore and experience a different variety of things? Where the player can do pretty much whatever they want to and get to play the story at their own pace? Red Dead Redemption 2 has been praised for its amazing gameplay, story mode, and its endgame the game also has amazing graphics even though it was released almost 5 years ago now. The game also has controls that are easy to learn making it easy for anyone to play. This review will have spoilers throughout it.

One of the best features about the game is it’s gameplay, from hunting and fishing to robbing banks and shootouts there is never nothing to do in this game. The game is also amazing at depicting what life was like in 1899 for example money's value is a lot less, really the only ways to travel are on horseback or trains, and sometimes people can come across a KKK meeting at night. There's a combat strategy in this game where people have to plan their attacks out and can't just run into the open and start shooting. The player does this by using the environment to their advantage. But people can't just sit in one place forever because things like boxes can eventually be shot through. The hunting and fishing in this game are amazing. They game has a ton of different animal species the player could hunt with around 200 different species, ranging from something as big as the legendary Bull Gator to a snake. Then after the players skins the animal they get to make the hide into clothing and cook they meat and eat it. Now there are not as many fish species with there only being 15. Some species consist of the Lake Sturgeon, Muskie, Catfish, and Bass. Even though there are only a couple different fish every single one has a legendary type of it. And catching a legendary fish isn't easy, the bigger it is the harder it is to keep it from breaking off and it takes longer to reel in. There's also a lot more people can do like collect plants, treasure hunt, and play poker and other little games like that. As you play the game its story will start to reveal itself and you will get more involved into the lives and world of the characters.

One of the next best things about the game is its story, the Red Dead Redemption 2 story follows an outlaw named Arthur Morgan and the Van Der Linde gang as they go through the harsh realities of life in the wild west in the early 1900s. The story is amazing because people can go at there own pace. One of the best missions in the game is called Banking, The Old American Art where Arthur and the gang rob a bank in Saint Denis. It's one of the best missions in the game because the player will end up on a boat going to north Cuba but then a storm hits and the player wakes up on a beach in Gurma. And the player will get a new map to explore and do missions on it for a bit. If the player dosent want to do the missions they could explore the map and meet strangers, some strangers are kinda weird with two being Bray and Tammy Aberdeen who are cannibals that invite people into their house and poison people then take all their money. But there are other strangers that arent as weird and one of them is named Hamish Sinclair, people meet him on the side of the road and he asks the player to help him retrieve his horse and if people do they become friends with him and he has a couple of missions people do with him. But the last one the player hunts a giant wild boar with Hamish that ends up killing him. As the story of the game reaches its end, the endgame becomes available, giving new missions to keep you engaged.

Another standout feature of the game is its endgame. Red Dead Redemption 2 has one of the best endings to any game ever. In the last mission as Arthur has him and another character named John in a standoff with the rest of the gang. Then bounty hunters called the Pinkertons raid the base and Arthur and John end up on top of a mountain. John leaves while Arthur stays and then he gets into a fight up on the mountain with someone named Micah. And that's where Arthur ended up dying. Another reason why its one of the best endgames is because there's four different endings to the game based entirely on a choice the player makes towards the end of the game. Each ending to playing as Arthur ends up being a really sad one but they are all fun no matter what one the player gets. But what makes Red Dead Redemption 2 one of the best endings is the player gets to keep playing the game for as long as they want. After Arthur dies the game skips ahead a couple of years and people get to play as John. Obviously, there are not going to be as many missions to do but there are still a couple and people still get to go do whatever the player didn't do as Arthur. Something cool the player can do is go find and talk to all the strangers and whoever else Arthur ever talked to and John would tell them that Arthur died and they would sometimes tell John about stuff Arthur helped them with and all that. And if the player gets bored with the story they could play online with friends and other people and do co-op missions. And almost everything they can do in the story they can do in online and a lot more they can't do in the story.

Overall Red Dead Redemption 2 is an amazing game and it's one of the best games I've ever played. It has incredible gameplay, a fantastic story, and an amazing endgame which makes this game worth playing. There's also a lot of stuff about this game that wasn't in this like the attention to detail is amazing, the character development is incredible, and it has stunning visuals. The game has some little flaws such as its occasional clunky controls and its pacing. But the strengths of the game easily overshadow its couple of flaws. If someone is a fan of an open-world game or a game that's cowboy related they should definitely get this game.
