Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

I wanted to review Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege; it is a first-person shooter game that is ultrarealistic. It was developed by Ubisoft on December 1, 2015. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game was also released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S exactly 5 years later December 1, 2020. The game puts emphasis on environmental destruction and cooperation between players. Each player assumes control of an attacker or a defender in different gameplay modes such as rescuing a hostage, defusing bombs, and taking control of an objective in a room. Rainbow Six doesn’t have a campaign but has a series of short, offline missions called “situations” that can be played solo. These missions have a loose narrative, focusing on recruits going through training to prepare them for future encounters with the “White Masks” a terrorist group that threatens the safety of the world.  

The characters are called “Operators”, and all of them have their own ability. The offense starts each round with a drone, while the defense is setting up barricades, reinforcing walls and putting traps down, the offensive side can switch operators and locations during that time. When the round starts, you have a max limit of time to finish, if you don’t complete the mission, the other team wins that round. The strategy is to wait till there is only one operator then try to sneak up and get them from behind but be aware of traps and equipment.

Some strengths: You can rappel, scan for enemies, destroy barricaded windows and doors. Some weaknesses: You can Team Kill, get detected if you go outside when you’re the defence, die from Fuse (an offensive operator) quickly. There is also a game mode called “Ranked”, you must be at least level 20.

I highly recommend this game if you enjoy realistic, first-person shooting games, especially when the operators have a bio like they’re age, DOB, Hometown, etc. Do you think you’ll like it? Play this amazing game by Tom Clancy to find out.
