On January 7th of 2015, a new Tv show emerged into people’s lives, spreading and taking over screens of phones, tablets, computers, and Televisions everywhere as if a domino effect. This show is Empire. Empire is one of the few tv shows that people have come across that does not lack any of the key points that audiences want to see in order for it to be intriguing. Empire pulls eyes to screens as they binge watch and become hooked onto this intense, drama, and action-packed sequel. This heart racing, drama tv show stars Terrence Howard (as Lucious Lyon) and Taraji P.Henson (as Cookie Lyon) as the main characters, and is directed by Danny Strong. Danny Strong is also known for directing widely recognized films, for example, the butler. These Tv shows have a runtime of about 42 minutes. The episodes of this Tv show easily show us why it is categorized as a drama, as it will have you jumping out of your socks with excitement and anticipation about what will happen next. The main idea of the show is about a family—the Lyon Family—who run a music empire and along their path to continue building their company and striving, they come face to face with problems and get caught in between struggles. Since this program is about music, from time to time it features music stars such as French Montana and many more. This is a perfect tv show for people who like excitement and suspense, and can handle the anticipation until the next episode. Terrence Howard (Lucious Lyon) is one of the most popular characters on this Tv show, he is known for being a cold-hearted gangster. Often times he says things that send chills down your spine. In an episode Lucious states "You have to understand, when a man in my position says 'please,' it means something… When a man like me says 'hear me out,' you hear me out, 'cause your life could depend on it," this shows us the immense amount of power that he has and how scary he can get. This guy plays a huge roll in the suspense and anticipation that goes on throughout the show. But, alongside the king of this Tv show is the queen, Taraji P.Henson (Cookie Lyon), she is a woman who has spent 17 years in prison for taking the blame for something her husband, Lucious, did. She holds up and keeps the company alive as she makes moves to keep it up and runs things smoothly. The backstabbing that happens within the family, and the murders that are committed for things to go a certain way will have you craving more of this tv show. All this explains and shows us why this show has won 25 awards and has been nominated for 84. Many people compare this tv show to power, which follows a similar storyline that involves a gangster running a business. But undoubtedly empire rises to the top as it can be seen as a father of power that has paved the way to what it has become today. Empire will not disappoint and will make you feel sad, angry, anxious, and mix up your emotions as you have you bipolar swings throughout the episodes. This show deserves more recognition as it is one of the best Tv shows that have come around in a while.
