Wednesday, the newest Tim Burton series that is based around the iconic Addams family, is Netflix’s newest hit setting records for hours watched in the first week of release, beating almost every season of Netflix’s biggest series ‘Stranger Things. The media seems to be in awe of not only the show but the actors so after seeing so many people talk about it I had to watch it for myself.

The show starts off showing what her life was like attending school with normal people and how she managed to get kicked out and sent to the school for outcast ‘Nevermore’. Before she even reached the school Wednesday hated it because she believed her mother (Morticia Addams) and her father (Gomez Addams) wanted to turn her into a version of themselves. When she checks into ‘Nevermore’ she meets her roommate Enid who is the complete opposite of herself. Enid is a very bubbly werewolf who always wears bright colors whereas Wednesday is always dressed in black. Despite their differences, they eventually grow very close and become best friends although I don’t think Wednesday would ever admit to that.

After the first day, Wednesday plans her escape but isn’t successful so she asks a normie to take her to the train station so she could run away on the night of the fair. As they are getting closer to escaping Wednesday bumps into her schoolmate Rowan and has a vision of him dying so she chases after him into the woods hoping to prevent it which leads to her discovering the monster that has been killing innocent people along with her classmate Rowan. As soon as Wednesday could get away she told her other schoolmates that Rowan had been killed by the monster but no one believed her because they saw him leaving the school the next day. After this Wednesday decided to stay at Nevermore and she made it her mission to find out everything about this monster and stop it.

There are so many ups and downs throughout this mission she has, she gains ‘’friends’’ but she loses them as well. Wednesday learns a lot about herself as well as her ancestors before her which helps her solve the mystery of the monster. In my opinion, this is a great continuation of the Addams family and a great look into the teenage years of Wednesday Addams. So many plot twists and scenes leaving you on edge. All in all a great show and deserves all the recommendations it has been receiving.
