Do you need something that is an upcoming film? Something to feel embarrassed about the old memories? Remembering how it was before high school life? Well, I know just the film for you, Eighth grade.

Eighth grade came out on July 13, 2018,  directed by Bo Burnham who also made movies and TV shows such as Sesame Street, American Virgin, Rough Night, etc. Eighth Grade is the kind of movie where you would remember before going to high school, you would feel all these emotions and try to show off or act cool in front of your friends or crush and that is exactly how Kayla felt. Kayla who is being played by Elise Fisher, starts by signing in on her YouTube channel and making new videos based on giving advice. But here's the catch, Kayla was a quiet kid, didn’t talk nor interact with her peers, and was in her little bubble. One day when her peers and herself was getting awards, she developed a crush on Aiden who is played by Luke Preal, Kayla finds him so hot and just wow, leaving her speechless. But it isn’t just only about a huge crush on someone, there are many different obstacles that Kayla will go through. 

Two unique people that stood out to me were Mark ( Kayla’s dad ) who was played by Josh Hamilton and Oliva ( the high schooler mentor ), Emily Robinson. These two people were the ones that stood out, Mark is a single parent trying to take care of Kayla all by himself and he grows character development throughout the film. Oliva was a high school student trying to get through high school and teaching Kayla the ways of being yourself in high school. Both of these people had different age gaps but always supported Kayla.
