In a mood to laugh however have nothing to laugh at? Behold the timeless classic known as Home Alone. Home Alone is a hilarious and joyous classic while also heartwarming and potentially tear jerking. This movie makes you feel the happiness of a kid getting everything they want while also showing and making you realize there’s more to life than just physical objects. This movie makes you realize that physical wants are nice however at the end of the day family is what you will always want and miss.

The director of Home Alone,Chris Columbus, showcased happy feelings with a sad hidden message. Alongside their production studio,Hughes Entertainment, they created a movie that, despite being made in 1990, still holds up to modern day standard 33 years later. The main character's actor,Macaulay Culkin, captures the personality of an 8 year old perfectly. Meanwhile the main villains actors, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, provide funny yet intimidating villains to the already funny story. Together these people create a story of a child being left behind by his family and his journey to realize that, despite them angering him, he still loves them.

As stated the main character,Kevin, gets left behind in a panic as they wake up late for a trip they planned so long for. In a hurry they miscount their children and leave him home alone. As the days pass by we see him enjoying the freedom of an empty house however, even though he gets angry with them he still misses them dearly. Meanwhile on the flight his mother realizes the family left him behind. Once landed she tries with all her might to get back to Kevin before harm befalls him. Unfortunately Kevin’s family and especially himself attracts the attention of robbers. Now he must defend the house all alone while his mom rushes to make it home. Will Kevin defend the house? Will his mom return in time to a safe Kevin? You must watch the movie to find out.

Home Alone has a message that many other movies simply wish they could reach. The message that while family can be harsh at times or you might even think you hate them. Deep down you will always love them and wish they are there. You will always love and miss your caring and loving family. Kevin realizes this and wishes for their return. He realizes that he should be grateful for such a loving and caring family that provides for him. This idea and emotion expressed in the movie is something that so many people can relate to. Tugging at the heartstring of thousands and truly leaving people with a happy and satisfied feeling. The movie shows how it is so much more than just a Christmas movie, it shows that this movie is a family story with Christmas tieing the family together.

Clearly I believe Home alone is a movie that many people should watch. This movie has its flaws like all movies. However, the message behind Home Alone is one of the major reasons why I recommend this movie. The message is such a joy filling, heartfelt message that when watched with fellow family members could make you all feel closer together as one big family. The love and care this movie shows will surely bleed into your family making it a great movie to watch with your child if you're an adult or with your parents if you are a child. Home Alone fits all ages and leaves a wonderful message all the while. My second reason for recommending this film is its comedy. Home Alone offers many heartfelt laughs all well placed in the movie. The film has great comedic timing and will most certainly get more than a few laughs out of you. Thus I cannot state this enough with its heartfelt moments and laughter. I heavily recommend that you watch Home Alone.
