Top-Gun Maverick. A movie based on the main character Maverick, or Pete Mitchel (Tom Cruise), who is tasked with teaching the newly graduated Top-Gun cadets how to master their aircraft and carry out a crucial mission.

The start of the movie was good, leading off with a good pace relaying the ending of the original movie (Top-Gun). It had an awesome jam-packed start where Pete went against orders and flew anyway which led him to now be teaching the same program which he was once a part of. It was really awesome being able to see the dynamics change in the way teacher versus student. Seeing how Pete went from someone who was a hardcore pilot, shifting to someone who takes more of a father figure role. It was a really enjoyable part of the movie to watch coupled with the overall storytelling able cinematography that was shown so early on. The ways director had his mood change when teaching the young cadets, to then acknowledging them as real certified top gun pilots.

Moving to the middle part of the movie he had to now teach a covert mission that only he and his students could accomplish. During this arc of the movie, Pete really changed and grew as a character. Changing from the “I don't Care” mindset to the “these are my children” type of mindset. Pete grows fatherly traits from the training and it was very exciting to watch as our main character went from a stone cold pilot to becoming someone who holds values to things other than himself and flying. Alongside the scenes shot throughout the flying periods were just incredible. It felt like I was watching water flow through a calm stream. It felt so fluid in the way characters spoke, how the scenes changed, and how it flowed so nicely into the actual doing of the mission.

Throughout the actual flying of the mission, I felt actually excited to finish the movie. It was very intense leaving the climax almost to the end of the three-hour-long movie that it is. It was very fulfilling. The same love that I hold for the movie today.

Combining the exquisite storytelling and pacing, the intertwined character dialogue with one another, the amazing actors, and just the overall production of the film. It is truly an excellent movie and series of movies that I recommend to anyone of any age or preference of genre..
