“Other Mother”. Coraline is a movie filled with life lessons. As the winner of the 2009 AFI Movie of the Year Coraline is a movie filled with life lessons. Perfect doesn't mean wanted, just because something is perfect doesn't mean that's what you want.

Coraline is given a chance to live the life she always wanted, with a mother who had time for her, and a father who would do anything to prove that he loved her. A tiny red door in her new house is the thing standing between her and her picture-perfect life.

The only catch is she has to give up a piece of herself.

The author uses coralline's want of a better mother to illustrate the point that just because something is perfect doesn't mean that you want it

Coraline is presented with what seems like the perfect life for multiple nights in a row, just to wake up back in the world she thought she left.

That went on for nights. Using that part of the movie to show the people that temptation is real and can go on for multiple days, weeks, and even months.

It's a tale as old as time, a person wants something and does everything in their power to get that.

“Other mother” and “Other father” wants to make Coraline their own daughter and set up elaborate “traps” for every night that she decides to come to visit, in order to gain her trust and at the end abuse her trust.

From a talking cat and an always smiling kid to a creepy downstairs neighbor and her stuffed dog.

they do everything in their power to get Coraline to come back again, and she does come back. Coraline got everything she wanted, and then she realized it isnt what she wants.

this movie is targeted towards kids to prove that there is no one better in the world than your family even if you fight they will always be there for you. The author wanted to prove again that perfect doesn't always mean perfect. Another point made is, kindness can be manipulated. By the end of the movie coraline has realized just how manipulative family can be. her other father is crying “so sorry! Mother making me” while he was attacking Coraline. Coraline then realizes how manipulative her other mother is to force her other father to almost murder her.

Sometimes the people we think we can trust is the whole reason we dont trust anymore. So be carful what you wish for
